Hollywood Forever Cemetery
6000 Santa Monica Blvd. · Hollywood
Founded in 1899, this is the resting place of Rudolph Valentino, Douglas Fairbanks, Cecil B. DeMille, Judy Garland and Mel Blanc, whose headstone reads ‘That’s All Folks’. Paramount’s water tower rises beyond its southern wall. In summer, Cinespia screens classic films on its lawn, and maps of notable graves are available.
On the north slope of the hills near Burbank, this cemetery holds Buster Keaton, Stan Laurel, Bette Davis, Liberace, and Carrie Fisher alongside her mother Debbie Reynolds. Its memorial architecture and Hall of Liberty celebrate American history. Visitors are welcome, and the grounds look out toward the Burbank studios.
This small neighborhood park holds Aspiration, a bronze figure dedicated to Rudolph Valentino in 1930, four years after his death, and paid for by fans. For decades a mysterious ‘Lady in Black’ visited his crypt at nearby Hollywood Forever each anniversary. The park is a quiet stop between Sunset and Santa Monica.
